Autodrama
AUTODRAMA is an urban interference through the use of four audio-cars (cars used in Brazil and some other countries to do commercial advertisement in the streets thru the installation of loud speakers into the automobile) that propagate dramatic texts, the cars dialogue between themselves and develop a series of movement in specific places of the city, extending the action to close-by streets also.
Granted by the prize FUNARTE ARTES CÊNICAS NA RUA – 2009, promoted by the National Arts Foundation, AUTODRAMA circulated in diverse urban spaces of 13 cities of two Brazilian regions (South and Southeastern), enclosing the states of Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and São Paulo, respectively in the cities of Florianópolis, São José, Biguaçu, Palhoça, Santo Amaro da Imperatriz, Itapema, Antonio Carlos, Canoas, Porto Alegre, Curitiba, São Jose dos Pinhais, Campinas and São Paulo.
The text of Autodrama was carried from adaptations and re-creation of four theatrical texts, Macbeth by Shakespeare, Mateus and Mateusa by Qorpo Santo, Ascension and fall of the city of Mahagonny by Brecht, and Fuenteovejuna by Lope de Veja, interlaced to the texts was added bureaucratic laws, philosophical and self-help thoughts.
During the action, AUTODRAMA occurs in a plaza or square of the city that holds a good flow of vehicles and pedestrians, the scene and scene-objects are integrated to the automobiles that, in transit, are media for performance and sonorous propagation. The square or plaza, and the streets next to them, are transformed into stage and parking-lot to the four cars actors that integrant action.

ERRO Grupo with AUTODRAMA aims to reflect about the urban habitat creating a displacement of the marketing and propaganda mechanisms to foment a political, social, environmental and ambient and cultural discussion. When propagating recordings of dramatic dialogues carried through by actors, through the sonorous tracks and by the movement of these cars in avenues and streets of the city, AUTODRAMA creates passages and dramatic spaces of conflict and of relations between the cars, the people, the by-passers, theater and the city, appropriating the possibilities offered by performance-art, of the extensions of the body in artistic actions and subverting contemporaries communication strategies.
When exploring the street, AUTODRAMA aims to question, to subvert and offer new tools for cultural ends and of propagation of knowledge by the appropriation of technological ways used by marketing. By inserting in the urban traffics and being diluting in the public flow, offering an unusual contact little with an artistic work, AUTODRAMA is justified by ERRO’s necessity in approaching art and life, in understanding culture as something inherent in life and, therefore, in strategically appropriating forms inserted in routine of daily, to re-signify the holy-place of art as well as the interferences in the urban flows.
