Desvio
The exausting repetition of violent facts deslocate the happening to an oniric state. The state of image. The speech floats in the air. Desvio is a street and passage spectacle.
The spectacle, wich openned in october 2006, was awarded by the national art foundation (FUNARTE) with the Myriam Muniz prize sponsored by Petrobras.
Desvio is a street and passage spectacle. Passage in which the audience is invited to experience the preparation of a murder´s representation. The spectacle proposes the doubt between reality and the ilusion, in the concrete scenary of cities´ downtown areas.
“What we make is a dream of what we want to make. It was reality that pressed us in a corner. I already quit worrying about it.”
As a street spectacle, discusses problematics of this space, gives new meaning to it´s physical and symbolic structures. Desvio surrealizes the urban space and its elements, through the urban intervention with the contemporary theatrical procedures. The preparation of a murder´s representation creates an uncorfortable atmosphere, and at the same time, oniric, where the experience of an announced death doesn´t happen in fact, but in the way of immanency.

In the street, Desvio reaches the invited audience, and the audience of passers, that detoured by the idea of a representation, becomes an abettor and a witness, in relation to the happenings. The death of art that is being rehearsed ever since its insertion in the consumist logic, gains strength with the eye of the abettor or the witness, that anxiously wait the the spectacle brightness. The meta-theatrical action gets lost in this winding passage, where reality spills to fiction and vice-versa.
“I knew that in our city of dust, of mud, existed this beautiful luminous neighborhood. The reality of this neighborhood is unquestionable – you can touch it with your finger. This clarity seems perfectly natural.”
With Desvio, Erro Grupo continues and deepens the research, that considers the street a privileged space for action, developed in the last six years in Florianópolis.
